Overview
Julia Sand worked on this project in 2017 during her time at Agenda Helsinki. She collaborated with a senior designer to refresh the UI of Helsinki's official website. The goal was to align the website's design with Helsinki City's updated visual identity while keeping the underlying architecture intact.
Process
The site's existing structure was preserved while giving it a fresh look. New fonts and design elements inspired by the identity's wave motif were introduced. All aspects complied with strict accessibility standards.
Outcome
The website achieved the highest AAA accessibility rating according to WCAG 2.0 guidelines, with a refreshed look aligned to the city's updated visual identity.
